Agartala,
November 06, 2007. The managing Director of TNGCL,Shri S.C.Hatwal and General
Manager(Marketing) of IOCL(AOD) , Shri J.N. Mahanta today signed Agreement
for setting up of CNG stations at the selected Retail Out lets of IOCL(AOD)
in the state of Tripura.
The Officers present on the occasion include Director (Com.),
TNGCL; Sr. Manager (Projects), TNGCL; Manager(Finance), TNGCL; Manager (HR),
TNGCL; Dy. Manager (O&M), TNGCL; Marketing Officer (Agartala), IOCL(AOD) and
Marketing Officer (LPG-S), Agartala, IOCL (AOD).
Tripura
Natural Gas Company Ltd., is a Joint Venture company promoted by GAIL
(India) Limited with 29% equity stake , 20% equity is shared equally among
Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Ltd.(Govt. of Tripura) and Assam
Gas Company Ltd. (Govt. of Assam) and remaining 51% will be for others
including financial institutes, subject to 5% maximum to each. The company
is executing this Agreement to create a positive impact on society and
environment for the people of this fast growing state. The sites would be
identified & selected by TNGCL & IOCL (AOD) jointly and all necessary
clearances would be obtained from statutory bodies for establishing the CNG
stations.
Towards
contributing to the development of the state, this step is expected to give
birth of a new era and a boost to enhance pollution free public transport
system and all other allied activities with a potential for substantial
direct and indirect employment generation. It is a great scope for TNGCL and
IOCL(AOD) for partnering and collaborative opportunities in utilizing this
natural gas resource to develop economy in the state.
TNGCL receives Natural Gas from the GAIL’s Maharajganj gas terminal
at a pressure of 4 kg. / Cm2 and safely transports natural gas
through its well built underground pipeline infrastructure of 257 km of HDPE
/ MDPE Gas Pipe Line Network to cater 6503 nos. of domestic, 105 nos. of
commercial & 19 industrial consumers’ and 01 brick field. Beside all this
TNGCL is also having 4” NB M.S pipe line infrastructure of 1.9 km to cater
Bodhjungnagar industrial consumers.
Presently,
TNGCL has 1 On-line CNG station at A. D. Nagar with a compression capacity
of 4419 kg / day, considering18 hrs. running. Natural gas is received from
the existing PNG network at a pressure of 4 kg / cm2 and is
compressed to 250 kg / cm2 with the help of a 5 stage
reciprocating Compressor and is stored in a cascade of 3000 Water Liter
capacity. Finally , CNG is dispensed to vehicle at a pressure of 200kg / cm2
with help of 2 nos. double armed dispensers, installed at the station.
At present, TNGCL has fixed the price of CNG as Rs. 22.5 per
Kg.
With a view
to make available CNG in different parts of the State by creating more CNG
stations at the selected Retail Outlets of IOCL (AOD), the Agreement has
been executed. This would usher a clean, green and prosperous era for
Automotive sector in the State of Tripura. |
